The SOA-C plates are a mix of agar, organic sorghum syrup and activated carbon. Adding carbon to the plates makes them more resistant to most contaminates, and are perfect for working with older or lesser known cultures. Allowing sorghum to be the first nutrient the mycelium consumes facilitates a faster colonization of the millet once the millet substrate has been inoculated. The plates are shrink wrapped and sealed in front of our MERV-rated, HEPA filtered flow hood. All of our plates are shelf-stable for up to 12 weeks.
