Maitake - "Brown Feather"

Description: Some claim the Brown Feather looks like a kerfuffled hen taking refuge against the base of an Oak tree. But the image of a hen lost in the woods is kind of a downer so we refer to it as the Brown Feather. When prepared properly the Brown Feather has a crunchy texture and a nutty flavor. To ensure proper growth and development be sure to grow these in a damp shaded conditions with a high relative humidity (80-90%)
